A date with the giants on Sunday
The first of the final matches between Fenerbahçe Ülker and Türk Telekom will take place on Sunday at Abdi Ipekçi.
NO CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR TELEKOM
The first match of the final play-off series to determine the BEKO Basketball League’s 2007-2008 season champion will be played at 17:00 on Sunday, May 25 at the Abdi Ipekçi Sports Auditorium.
The second match of the series between F.Bahçe Ülker and Türk Telekom will also be held at Abdi Ipekçi Sports Auditorium. While the third and fourth matches will be hosted in Ankara, the fifth and final match of the series, if needed, will be played in Istanbul. Last season’s champions, F.Bahçe Ülker has taken two league championships, but Türk Telekom last appeared in the finals in the 1996-1997 season.
THE SERIES WILL BEGIN 0-0
The final play-off series in the BEKO Basketball League Championship will begin with a 0-0 standing and the team that wins 4 matches will be the 2007-2008 season champion. Fenerbahçe Ülker and Türk Telekom have met three times altogether - twice in this season’s regular games and once in the Opel Turkey Cup.
In the first match of the season Fenerbahçe Ülker hosted the competitors and secured a 99-93 win. In the second half of the season the teams met in Ankara and the match ended 84-72 in favor of Türk Telekom.
The two rivals played each other in the Opel Turkey Cup semi-final in Ankara, and with a score of 73-72, Türk Telekom was defeated by Fenerbahçe, who took the final game and then the cup.
