Ülker, the leading food company in Türkiye, continued to increase its score in the ESG 2021 Index (Environmental, Social & Governance/ Environmental, Social and Governance) conducted by the international assessment organization S&P Global, in which more than 1000 companies worldwide are evaluated.

Ülker, which has made a name for itself with the sustainability projects it has implemented in recent years, has managed to rank in the top three among 37 companies in the index from different sectors from Türkiye. Among the 115 food companies around the world that took part in the study, Ülker was able to enter the top 6 percent with the score it received.

Ülker CEO Mete Buyurgan said that their successful performance in sustainability projects was once again proven with the progress in the S&P Global ESG Index 2021.

Buyurgan continued his words as follows: “The principle of being a 'wasteless company' is at the center of all our activities at Ülker. We have been growing without an increase in carbon emissions since 2014. We continue our work with long-term goals under 6 headings: environment, value chain, innovation, employees, social responsibility and leadership. In our sustainability projects, we operate with an understanding that focuses on growing and getting stronger together with the society and our stakeholders. We have become the only food company in Türkiye to be evaluated in the S&P Global ESG Index by steadily increasing our score each year. The recognition of our achievements in sustainability on international platforms further increases our motivation in this regard. 2021 has been a year where the steps we have taken in this direction have made an impact. In the upcoming period, we will continue to lead the food industry with our sustainability projects.”
