Buyurgan joined Yıldız Holding in 2013 as Vice President of the Food Group. He has been serving as president of Türkiye, Central Asia, Romania, and the Balkans Regions of pladis, Yıldız Holding's snack company.
Mete Buyurgan has been appointed CEO of Ülker Bisküvi, Türkiye's largest publicly traded food company. Buyurgan joined Yıldız Holding in 2013 as Vice President of the Food Group and he was the president of pladis Türkiye between 2016 - 2018. In 2018, Buyurgan became the President of pladis Türkiye, Central Asia, Romania, and the Balkan Regions, and he will now also assume the role of CEO at Ülker Bisküvi.
Yıldız Holding CEO Mehmet Tütüncü will transfer CEO of Ülker Bisküvi duties to Mete Buyurgan, while remaining Chairman of the Board.
Stating that Buyurgan has been very successful with Yıldız Holding since 2013, Yıldız Holding Chairman Ali Ülker said:

About Mete Buyurgan
Mete Buyurgan graduated from Çukurova University’s Department of Business Administration, and earned a master’s degree in "Human Resources Management" from Marmara University’s English Business School. He then completed the “Sales Management” program at New York University. Buyurgan started his career at Colgate Palmolive in 1994, undertaking different marketing and sales roles for 12 years. In 2005, Buyurgan joined Hobi Cosmetics Inc. as General Manager and implemented their restructuring project, which culminated in the company's acquisition by Dabur Ltd. India, following which he continued to serve as CEO and Board Member. Buyurgan joined Yıldız Holding in 2013 as Vice President of the Food Group and managed various companies within the Holding. Between 2016 and 2018, Buyurgan was appointed president of pladis Türkiye, and in 2018, he became president of pladis Türkiye, Central Asia, Romania, and the Balkan Regions. In addition, Buyurgan has been appointed CEO of Ülker Bisküvi.
