Support from Ülker for Istanbul 2020
The biggest supporter of Turkish sports, Ülker is now contributing to the process of Istanbul’s bid for the 2020 Olympic games.
Ülker, which supports football and basketball not only at a professional level but also at the minor team level, has signed a contract to carry out the promotional activities planned for Istanbul’s candidacy along with Tokyo and Madrid for the 2020 Olympic games.
Yıldız Holding Board of Directors Deputy Chairman Ali Ülker and Istanbul 2020 Committee Member Murat İlbak signed the 2.5 Million Euro support agreement at the Yıldız Holding Haedquarters. This support will be used for the promotional work of Istanbul in its fifth candidacy for the Olympics. The final decision about where the Olympics will be held will be announced on September 7, 2013 in the capital of Argentine, Buenos Aires.
We are confident that the 2020 Olympics will be held in Istanbul.
In the statement made by Yıldız Holding Board of Directors Deputy Chairman Ali Ülker at the signing ceremony he said; “Yıldız Holding is a company that has sports in its DNA. We have been supporting sports in Türkiye with our Ülker brand for many years because we believe that Türkiye is a land of sports and that sports needs to be spread at the foundation. Hosting the Olympics is an important move both in terms of the facilitation that will be done in all branches and in raising athletes. It means an even bigger step forward in terms of Türkiye being a sports country. We, as the biggest supporter of Turkish sports, are very pleased to be lending our support to the Olympic games being held in Istanbul and firmly believe that Istanbul will win the right to host the 2020 Olympic games to make all of Türkiye happy.”
Ülker has been working for 40 years to make everyone from 7 to 70 embrace sports. Ülker, which has co-operations with Clubs and Federations, does not limit its support to sports with these. Ülker also continues to show the same care towards developing children’s sports projects in order to create healthier and happier new generations and has realized a number of different projects in the last six months to provide the opportunity for nearly 250 thousand kids to become involved in sports.
