TFF-Ülker’s Elite Football Villages Have Wrapped Up
Ülker Grassroots and the TFF’s Elite Football Villages Program have wrapped up for the year. 102 talented children – 46 girls and 56 boys – who were hand-picked by their coaches from all across Türkiye had gathered at the Altınordu Football Club Selçuk Facilities camp in Kuşadası this past summer (2015).
Ülker Grassroots and the TFF’s Elite Football Villages Program have wrapped up for the year. 102 talented children - 46 girls and 56 boys – who were hand-picked by their coaches from all across Türkiye had gathered at the Altınordu Football Club Selçuk Facilities camp in Kuşadası this past summer (2015).
For a whole week, national team coaches taught football to talented 12 and 13 year olds as well as advanced football techniques and rules, and gave them feedback on their performance. The kids also learned about nutrition as well thanks to SÜGAV (Sabri Ülker Food Research Foundation). Developing football skills during the 7-day camp, the kids also discovered what solidarity means, thanks to football. On the last day, they also got to tour The House of Virgin Mary and Ephesus.
So far, The Football Village project has given 5,300 children the opportunity to play sports and hone their skills. Over the past nine years, some 200 boys and girls have been scouted from the village to play on national and professional teams.
