Ülker FIBA - Happy Basketball Moments

Basketball is one of the world’s top games. It’s exciting, fast, enjoyable and filled with happy moments. Ülker, which has been witness to many happy moments and which has always supported the development of the game in Türkiye and contributed to the future of the sport by training young players, is happy to announce its sponsorship of the largest international sporting event ever held in Türkiye, the FIBA World Championships. Ülker, which began its romance with basketball in 1975 in a small basketball court in the garden of its factory and later on established the Ülkerspor basketball team in 1993 and has supported the rapidly growing sport for many years, has outdone itself.

Ülker, which has been involved with Turkish sports for many years, has undertaken the main sponsorship of the largest sporting event ever hosted in Türkiye, the FIBA World Championship.  The event will take place August 28 – September 12 and games will be played in 4 different cities.  24 national teams will be cheered on by hundreds of thousands of fans.

The Ülker-sponsored Children of the World project will play host to children from more than 100 countries

Besides sponsoring the FIBA Championship, Ülker will also be sponsoring the Turkish Basketball Federation’s “Children of the World” project, in keeping with the company’s “Children First” philosophy. The project is focused on basketball but the children will also take part in cultural, educational and social activities.  The “Children of the World” event will be operated August 24 – 31 and more than 200 kids from over 100 countries will be welcomed to Türkiye by more than 100 Turkish children who will also take part in the events. The project was organized to coincide with the 2010 World Basketball Championships. Against that backdrop, 13 and 14 year old kids from many nations and cultures will come together to socialize, learn about each other’s cultures, develop their basketball skills and gain an understanding of team spirit..

The nearly 300 children from Türkiye and the rest of the world will spend the week touring different locations in the country and will have a chance to attend a FIBA championship game. Some of the children from different countries who take part in the camp will be treated to a tour of the Ülker chocolate factory.
