Ülker Bisküvi* successfully completed the year 2023 with outstanding business results, achieving a sales revenue of 56 billion TL. According to the statement sent to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) by the company, Ülker Bisküvi, with a 32% share in sales revenue from export and international operations, maintained its leadership in the biscuit market in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, and achieved strong growth in Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries.
A total of 47 new products were introduced to consumers in the biscuit, chocolate, and cake categories last year. Ülker Bisküvi, which exports to over 100 countries worldwide and operates production in 13 factories (9 in Türkiye and 4 abroad) with over 9,000 employees, emphasized its achievements for the year 2023.
Ülker CEO Mete Buyurgan provided the following information regarding 2023: "We concluded a challenging year with significant achievements and milestones. At the beginning of the year, we completed Ülker Bisküvi's first sustainability-linked credit agreement, notional amount of 330 million dollars. We continued our sustainability approach in the financial sector, with sustainability being at the core of our business.
Our efforts on sustainable raw material supply were expanded with projects such as “Water Risks and Beyond Hazelnut”. According to the environmental, social, and governance (ESG)** performance evaluation results conducted by the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) in January 2024, we ranked first globally among evaluated companies in our category.
While maintaining our leadership in the market, last year, we introduced a total of 47 new products to our consumers in the biscuit, chocolate, and cake categories in Turkey. Innovation and digitalization remained crucial priorities this year as well. We deployed 20 autonomous mobile robots at our Gebze Factory. These robots, capable of transporting 2,600 different materials, will enhance production efficiency and provide cost advantages.
We will continue our strong performance in 2024, contributing to our country, economy, employees, consumers, and all stakeholders. We will continue our work with a waste-free corporate culture. Our priority will be to use innovation not only to enhance our product range but also in various aspects such as digitalization, product supply, and further strengthening our distribution network."
