Ülker has become the local supporter of the FIFA U20 World Cup

Ülker, a company that constantly increases investments in children who are the future of Turkish football has taken this one step further by signing on to the FIFA U20 World Cup which will be organized in Türkiye.

Ülker has become the local supporter of the FIFA U20 World Cup which will be held on June 21-July 13, 2013 in Türkiye. The agreement between FIFA and Ülker, which became official on March 22, 2013 was signed by FIFA General Secretary JeromeValcke and Yıldız Holding Deputy Board of Directors Chairman Ali Ülker.

In the statement made by Yıldız Holding Deputy Board of Directors Chairman Ali Ülker, he said "We have been supporting sports in Türkiye for many years with the belief that Türkiye is a country of sports and sports should be spread across a wide audience. We take special care to make sure that the projects we undertake with football and basketball federations in the country are of a nature that supports the infrastructure of sports in our country and we constantly strive to spread sports throughout the country. We also support the organization of big international activities in our country. We first gave our support to the FIBA World Basketball Championship and we are also expending intense efforts towards Istanbul’s bid for the 2020 Olympics. Now we are taking another very important step with the TFF to host an international event … I am very pleased to announce that we will be the local sponsor of the FIFA U20 World Cup which will be the first FIFA event to be held in Türkiye. Also the FIFA U20 World Cup will form an important bridge between the Grassroots Program we have supported for many years and professional sports”.

Ülker, a company that places great importance on supporting the development of sports and the sports industry through cooperation with the Federations and to projects directed at kids, has made it possible for over 250 thousand children over the past 6 years to become acquainted with sports. Successful players who have emerged from the Grassroots (Football for Kids) Program and been transferred to the youth development of National teams are advancing into the future with confident steps. While some of these young people have represented our country in big organizations such as the European Championships and the Youth Olympics some have even shown the success of making their way up to the A team.
