Ülker is ready for the European Championship

Ülker Corporate Communications Director Zuhal Şeker stated that during Euro 2008 Ülker, the main sponsor of the Turkish National Team, will conduct its sponsorship campaign, which began in 2007, using the slogan “Our Minds are on Football, Our Hearts are with Turkey”. Ülker has distributed 10 million bottles of milk and 168 million packages of cookies and chocolate with the slogan on their labels to its sales points.

Şeker, said that the products have been distributed every week by 2,500 special trucks painted in the teams colors, to 214 sales points around the country.  The trucks have racked up 61 million km in the past six months! Şeker also spoke about Ülker’s national sponsorship and its intimate 33–year relationship with sports, the emotional impact that the brand name has on customers and the over-all recognizability of the brand name that has been established because of the company’s sponsorship and support.

Şeker also stated that Ülker’s annual 38 million dollar investment in Turkish sports is equally divided between the sports of football and basketball. At the same time, Ülker sponsors 4 big teams as well, said Şeker, and added that sponsorship plays a very significant role in establishing the recognizability of the sponsoring brand name.  Commenting on the hard work that the National Team has done to prepare for their participation in Europe, Şeker also pointed out that Ülker is similarly engaged with global competors in Europe and the rest of the world.
