Ülker’s support for the Red & White
As football fans eagerly await the Turkish National Team’s appearance in Euro 2008, excitement is growing, but the event is also contributing to the nation’s economy.
Ülker, which will continue to be the main sponsor of the National Team until 2012, is busy creating synergy with products to support the team. Stating that the company’s investments in sport are also influenced by the importance that it places on nutrition and active participation in sports, Ülker Corporate Communications Director Zuhal Şeker, announced that Içim Milk has launched a promotional campaign in support of the team, which is expected to increase sales by a targeted 10-15%.
Scratch and win
Şeker said, “We have started a promotional campaign in chain stores. For three weekends in a row, at 120 sales points located all around Turkey, any customer who makes a one-time purchase of 15 TL of more will receive a scratch and win card that will give the customer a chance to win a variety of prizes including a National Team uniform, football, satchel or magnet.”
Şeker also said that Chewy will show its sponsorship of the National Team with its red and white chewing gum sold in packets in the team’s colors. Sales of the gum are expected to reach 1 million units. Ülker provides 38 million dollars in support of Turkish sports every year. The sponsorship of the country’s National Team is a very important one for Ülker said Şeker as indicated by the slogan “All the way with Red and White, We support the National Team”. “Besides our special products, Ülker has produced a TV commercial, a video clip of the National Team, an internet site and various field activities. Our web address is ‘www.bununicindogdunuz.com’, and football fans and our players’ loved ones can send messages of support to National Team players Tuncay, Servet and Emre, who will pass the messages on to the rest of the team. We anticipate that more than a million messages will be sent over the course of Euro 2008,” she said.
