'We invested 38 million dollars in Turkish sports; with our sponsorship of ULEB we went global'

Ülker Corporate Communications Director Zuhal Şeker stated that, after Turkish sport, its most important sponsorhip is the final 8 in the ULEB Cup, one of Europe’s most important organizations.

Ülker has become one of the global sponsors for one of Europe’s most important basketball organizations and Turkish clubs, Beşiktaş and Galatasaray's successful participation in the ULEB Cup Final 8. Ülker's Corporate Communications Director Zuhal Şeker, pointing out that the company spends 38 million dollars annually to sponsor the Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, Beşiktaş and Trabzonspor clubs, as well as the National Team, said, "We have been making investments in sports for many years.  Within the framework of sports and its importance in the world, these investments have served to create a sentimental bond with our customers, consolidate our brand name and maintained its perception.  As the largest corporate sponsor, we are happy about the point at which we find ourselves.”

SUPPORT FOR FOOTBALL INCREASES

Most of the resources that Ülker has created are used by Fenerbahçe for basketball and by Galatasaray for football. For many years, Ülker sponsored the Ülkerspor Basketball Club which was established in 1975, but later, with a change of management, it expanded its sponsorship to include the three big teams. Ülker is still a sponsor of Beşiktaş Cola Turka, Fenerbahçe Ülker, Galatasaray Café Crown and the young sports team, Alpella. As for football, under the Cola Turka brand name the company supports Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray and Trabzonspor as a sponsor. Besides its sponsorship of the National Team in cooperation with the Turkish Football Federation, Ülker has expanded its sponsorship of football to include the National Women’s National A Team and has signed a far-reaching agreement with all of the national football teams. Ülker management commented, “The agreement, which took 5 years to hammer out, our position as main sponsor of the National Team s will not only include top-flight football, but we will also be supporting its infrastructure.”
